Features

Baja California, the last vestige of untamed North America.

The waters surrounding the Peninsula on the Pacific coast of Mexico, are teaming with life and considered one of the best places on our planet for wildlife observation. Whales, dolphins, pinnipeds, and aquatic bird species are seemingly limitless throughout your voyage, offering the intrepid explorer an unparalleled opportunity to observe these majestic animals in their natural environment.

Highlights of this unique expedition include destinations such as San Benitos Islands, San Ignacio Lagoon, and the Sea of Cortez. Throughout your journey, you will have the opportunity to observe a variety of cetaceans including friendly Grey whales, giant Blue whales, and courting Humpbacks. Up to ten other species are possible to observe. Lagoon encounters with mom and calf pairs of Grey whales are the focal point of your voyage. Friendly encounters are common and often termed life-changing by our active participants. A host of additional wildlife will be observed throughout this exciting voyage including several species of seals and sealions as well as a long list of seabirds.

A Seafari tour of the Baja Peninsula onboard the Spirit of Adventure is the ultimate eco-tourism expedition. For over 35 years, the Spirit has guided adventure-seeking stewards of our oceans up and down the coast educating and entertaining clients throughout their voyage.
