the San Diego Fleet is reporting great fishing for Tuna on offshore grounds. Sportfishing vessels encounter large schools of large Bluefin (50 – 200 lbs) daily. The numbers posted for final catch counts reflect what is pulled in on deck. The story those reports do not tell is of anticipation for when the bite breaks “wide open.” You never know- the day that happens might be the day you go.
The Malihini ran our full day trip today and caught 3 Yellowtail, 1 Halibut and 87 Rockfish!

The Old Glory returned with 25 Bluefin for their overnight trip!
The Legend has called in with 25 Bluefin tuna for their 1-1/2 day adventure!
The Sea Adventure 80 has 13 on deck now with a handful hanging these Bluefin are all 80-150 pounds!! The Bluefin bite is on!

Departing Tuesday night we have the Top Gun 80 departing for 1-1/2 day trip. The Daiwa Pacific is departing for a over night trip! Both these trips are very light at this time. The fish are biting don’t be left at the dock BOOK NOW
Departing Wednesday the Constitution is definetely departing for a 1-3/4 day Bluefin trip at 11 AM! Also departing Wednesday night the Legend and the Producer have 1-1/2 day trips and the Daiwa Pacific has an overnight!
If you want to go and bring your 30 to 50 pound gear remember to bring that 80-100 lb gear as well if you really want a shot of putting those big fish on the boat!
There is plenty of rental gear available at the landing if you need to augment your gear!

Captain Kley on the Old Glory just called in SURROUNDED by Bluefin tuna 150lbs and bigger! They have a few still hanging but the fish have been winning most the battles! If you want to go and bring your 30 to 50 pound gear remember to bring that 80-100 lb gear as well if you really want a shot of putting those big fish on the boat! The Old Glory, Legend, and Sea Adventure 80 are all GOING FOR SURE!
There is plenty of rental gear available at the landing if you need to augment your gear!

Captain Scott on the Sea Adventure 80 called in with an update, so far they have 16 nice Bluefin Tuna (50-80 pounds). Captain Scott was excited, they were running up on a school of Bluefin, and they were just starting to boil. Stay tuned for updates!

Old Glory has 12 Bluefin on deck, and LOTS splashing around in the area. Captain Kley told us it’s good fishing for those who are properly equipped.
